Dr. McCaffrey grew up in The Bronx, New York. She attended Boston University, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Biology as well as a Master of Science in Nutritional Biochemistry. Dr. McCaffrey graduated from the Boston University School of Medicine and completed her residency in Pediatrics as Massachusetts General Hospital.
Dr. McCaffrey worked in General Pediatrics in Troy, New York for 20 years before moving to Oregon. She has been a Fellow of The American Academy of Pediatrics since 1991. Her interests include care of the newborn, child development, and advancing the Reach Out and Read program.
Dr. McCaffrey is married and has 3 children. In her free time, she enjoys running, hiking, skiing, swimming and playing the drums.
