The MCHF’s Festival of Trees looked a bit different this year, but thanks to our amazing sponsors, tree donors and decorators, and on-line contributors we were able to raise over $32,000. Proceeds will benefit patients of the Celilo Cancer Center and help towards the purchase of a new linear accelerator.
Eight decorated trees were prominently displayed at various locations around town and online (on Facebook and the Health Foundation web page) from Dec. 1 to Dec. 7. Rather than an auction, money was raised by way of a direct donation. Each tree displayed a QR code and website address that patrons used to make online donations.
The Toy Drive, benefiting local kids in foster care and the Teacher Appreciation Drive were very well supported!
Next year we are hoping and planning for a live event. We enjoy that the community counts on the Festival of Trees to kick off the holiday season, but if we find ourselves in a similar situation as 2021, it is reassuring to know that the community understands and continues to support the MCHF.
So, thank you again to everyone who made the re-envisioned 2021 Festival of Trees a huge success!
Stay tuned for more information on FOT 2022. See you in December!
