Information for Your Virtual Visit

An online doctor’s visit is a convenient way to confidently resolve certain medical conditions without having to leave your home.

Secure technology makes it possible to see an MCMC provider, face to face, on your smartphone, desktop or telephone. Using video conferencing, providers can look, listen and engage with patients to diagnose health concerns and provide an effective treatment plan.

What conditions can be treated online via telemedicine?

Telemedicine is a convenient way for patients suffering from non-life-threatening conditions, to receive treatment for ailments such as:

  • Fever
  • Sore throat, runny nose or cough
  • Allergies
  • Joint or back pain
  • Rashes
  • Eye infection
  • Urinary tract infection
  • Vomiting and diarrhea

Who should not use Telemedicine?

Telemedicine is not for people suffering from serious or life-threatening conditions. If you have life-threatening medical concerns, call 911 or proceed to the nearest emergency department.

Do I need an appointment?

Yes. Telemedicine visits are available by appointment only. To make a Telemedicine appointment, call your MCMC provider. The office staff will schedule the appointment for you.

What hours is Telemedicine available?

Telemedicine appointments are currently available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Will you bill my insurance?

Yes. Telemedicine appointments will be billed to insurance by MCMC. There is no copayment due at the time of service. As always, after insurance, patients will be billed for their portion of the visit. The patient portion will be the same or less than an in-person office visit and varies depending on insurance carrier and plan.

Will my appointment be with an MCMC provider?

Yes. MCMC Telemedicine providers are all MCMC physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners who are located right here in the Columbia River Gorge.
