Sean McHugh is a Physician Assistant at MCMC Family Medicine. He has a background in family medicine, and he enjoys chronic disease management, acute care, and preventative medicine. His goal as a primary care provider is to provide safe, evidence-based, collaborative medical care. Sean wants patients and their families to feel heard and be active participants in their health care.
Sean seeks to serve as a resource and advocate for patients. He is establishing with patients of all ages, from newborns to older adults. He also enjoys doing medical procedures, such as Nexplanon birth control insertion/removals, neonatal circumcisions, skin biopsies, joint injections, trigger point injections, and ingrown toenail removals. Additionally, he has a special interest in sports-related concussion management.
Sean completed his undergraduate studies at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, where he focused on psychology and biology. After graduating, he worked as a nursing assistant in a dementia care and assisted living facility in Seattle, Wa, and clinical research coordinator in thoracic and esophageal surgery, as well as clinical oncology. Sean completed his graduate medical degree at Idaho State University in Meridian and Twin Falls, Idaho.
Sean was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, and he is excited to be working in the Columbia River Gorge community. In his free time, he enjoys watching Gonzaga basketball, Seahawks football, running, hiking, cross country skiing, exploring all the Gorge has to offer with his wife and their two dogs, as well as playing his guitar and bass.
