MCMC is experiencing an increase in COVID-19 cases in our community. This not only impacts available hospital beds, it also leads to staffing shortages. It is critical that we all do our part to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our community by wearing masks, social distancing and getting vaccines/boosters.

To protect our patients and healthcare workers during this current wave, our visitor policy has been updated. Effective Monday, May 16, 2022:

• No visitors will be allowed. Exceptions are made for end-of-life and pediatric patients.
• Patients requiring a support person may have one support person per day.

A support person is a:

• Caregiver or attendant of a patient who needs assistance due to a language barrier or the patient’s disability, whose presence will assist the person with the disability in receiving treatment, ensure the safety of the patient or facility staff, or who must assist with activities of daily living.
• Close family member of a patient undergoing end-of-life care as determined by the medical provider in charge of the patient’s care.
• Parent or guardian of a child receiving care.
• Person supporting a mother in Labor and Delivery.
• Person accompanying a same-day surgery patient, a person who needs teaching to provide care to the patient, or any person at the physician’s request.

COVID-19 Screening Required

All support persons must be screened for signs or symptoms of COVID-19, contact with known or suspected COVID-19 cases, recent travel, and have their temperature taken.
